Upgrade test plan can be used to check the workbook performance between two environments with "Run time variation" property setting. The data comparison can be ignored by selecting a property "Ignore data Differences".

Step1: 

Create a new Upgrade test plan. Select the two environments in the Start tab and select the "Run time variation", "Ignore Data Differences" in the advanced options.

Step2: 

Add the workbook or the views of the first environment to the test plan, by using the search or by dragging and dropping from the right side connection tree.

Step3: 

Run the test plan.

• Running the test plan compares the views and worksheets of both the environments based on the "Run time variation".
• BI Validator displays the pre and post run time durations which can be used to compare the performance.
• If the "Ignore Data Differences" is selected in the Start tab, then only the report run times are compared based on the selected variance. Data or PDF differences are ignored.
